Give Me That Spoon

About a week ago we let Juliette try rice cereal for the first time. She didn't seem to know what to make of it, but she definitely liked the spoon.  It took us a while to get any rice cereal to her mouth because she kept trying to grab the spoon. Sadly, my video of this won't upload :(

Here are some pictures of her second taste of rice cereal. Once again, the video wouldn't load :(

But I want to hold the spoon!

Juliette wanted to feed herself. She's  Miss Independent.

She made some horrible faces, but seemed to keep wanting more.
I'm not sure how much really made it to her tummy.

A Month of Firsts

October has been a very eventful month for us. Juliette's been so much fun, and we've been able to do many new things. Through Canaan's work, we were able to go to the Children's Museum. It was a big flop. We started the evening with the dinosaur exhibit. Juliette did not like this. The combination of feeling spooked and tired did her in for the rest of the exhibits. We'll have to try it again when she's a little older.

Barbie Runway

Blown Glass Exhibit: Juliette actually liked this exhibit.

Juliette also found her feet this month, and shortly after, her toes found their way to her mouth. Whenever she's getting her diaper changed her feet pop straight up to her mouth.

We also were able to take Juliette out for her first Halloween. We went over to the Walker's house on Saturday for some Trunk or Treating, and on Monday, we went to Grandma's house for a short outing. Juliette was a ladybug. She's seemed to enjoy herself and liked holding on to the different pieces of candy.

mmmm, m&ms

It was extra special having both sets of Grandparents be there on Juliette's first Halloween!

2.5 Months

Juliette's now 2.5 months old. It seems like she is doing new things all the time. She is now regularly finding her thumb and so close to rolling over. She is talking more and more every day. She also enjoys looking at books and listening to Mommy and Daddy sing to her. I am so thankful I have this time to stay at home with her.

What's Juliette up to? Week 7&8

Juliette managed to find her thumb for the first time one lucky Saturday morning. To her dismay, she has been unable to recreate this event. When she tries she just pokes her eyes with her fingers.

Juliette loves her play gym, and it has been a lifesaver while I try to get ready in the mornings. It is the only time that she really reaches out and touches things. And it is so precious watching her talk to the beautiful girl in the mirror. This week she found her voice, and Canaan and I love it! In this video, she catches me watching her.

Juliette thinks she needs to sit up all the time, even when she is riding in her car seat. She will pull her head up so it doesn't rest on the car seat. In this video she's trying out her Bumbo seat. Juliette is very expressonless when she is concentrating on sitting up. It must take up all her energy.

Canaan is always finding something Juliette finds funny. We just love watching Juliette smile. It is so neat now that she gives us genuine smiles. Here she smirks at Canaan's "sad face." Whatever made him think to try this, I don't know.

Canaan has also discovered what we are calling Juliette's favorite word, but you have to say it like this, "goooooood."
