Baby's Room

These quilts were made with love just for Juliette.

Here's the room for those of you who haven't seen it on Facebook. It's almost finished, but there's one more thing we want to do. We will need to know her name for sure before we can complete that project. It's probably Juliette, but I might change my mind when I see her.

A Teacher's Weakness...

So today I impulsively pulled into a subdivision having a community garage sale. I happened upon a box filled with board books. I've always had a weakness for books, but board books is a whole new domain. I've never bought them before. Normally, I am buying books for my first and second graders. It was a whole new experience buying them for our little girl. One book I stumbled upon was called If You See a Mouse. It was so cute. I can just imagine reading it to Juliette. If you see a dog, tickle somebody! (Then when you pull back the flap, there's a dog). I can see me tickling her as we pull back the flap. I am sure as she learns the book, she will tickle back :) If you see a butterfly, kiss somebody! As you can guess, I bought the book and many others, too.

38 Weeks

I had my 38 week appointment today. It lead to my fifth ultrasound, but I can't say I minded having another opportunity to see my little girl. I still remember feeling disappointed at my 18 week ultrasound when the doctor told me that most likely that would be my last ultrasound...

The doctor wanted to check my fluid levels because I am measuring small again. Juliette (that's the name I'll use for now) is measuring about a week small, but she is measuring that way all over (not just her head or stomach), so it's not concerning. Fluid levels looked good, and the ultrasound estimates her to be about 6 pounds 9 ounces. Unfortunately, Juliette kept hiding her face with her hand, so I couldn't get a good look at her. Here's a picture of Juliette's face at our 34 week ultrasound. She actually let us see her during this ultrasound.

A Waiting Game

I am now over 37 weeks pregnant. Canaan and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our baby girl. I am off bed rest now because I am considered full term, and whenever our little Juliette (unless when I see her I decide she's an Autumn) decides it's time to come is okay.

I've decided that I want to keep a blog to record and share this exciting new time in our life. It will allow family and friends to see what's happening and create memories for Canaan & me. I am a little concerned that I won't be able to keep up with a blog, but I'll give it a go. (Photo: 36 weeks)
