10+2 Things We Have Learned About Juliette

Here they are in no particular order. Please feel free to add on anything we missed...

1. When she is sound asleep there is no waking her. As Canaan says, "There's no waking this kid up." And trust me, he tries.
2. She is a noisy sleeper. She squeaks, grunts, and sometimes cries in her sleep. This took me a while to get used to. All night long I would check on her to see if she was okay. Now I know, that's just Juliette.
3. She also squeaks a lot when she's awake. Canaan calls her squeakers.
4. Juliette tends to cross her legs when I lay her down to sleep.
5. She's a very gassy girl. If you sit close to us at the church building, you might be in for a chuckle.
6. She likes her carseat, and a good car ride will most likely put her to sleep.
7. Juliette likes to be moving. In the car, she will start fussing at traffic lights or an ATM. The same is true for the stroller.
8. She likes to have her hands at her face. This was even true in her ultrasound pictures.
9. Because of #8, Juliette doesn't like her arms bound. We tried to use swaddlers, but she just got frustrated and struggled until she freed her arms.
10. She sleeps a lot longer when she is held than if we put her in her bed. This can be rather inconvenient at night.
11. She's very expressive (even when she's sleeping).
12. She gets the hiccups all the time (even before she was born), but she doesn't seem to be too bothered by them.

New developments...
Juliette now weighs over 10 pounds! She was just 6 lbs 1.75 oz when we came home from the hospital on July 17th. Juliette is becoming very aware of her surrounds and loves looking around. She enjoys being talked to and spending time in her play gym. The swing is hit or miss depending on her mood. She also has started giving us real smiles :)

Next post: We recently had Juliette's 5 week pictures taken and some family photos. I will add these soon.
